Freelance Carpenters and Scenic Artists

Haskett Works is always looking to expand its list of qualified carpenters and scenic artists to work limited engagements when working on a larger volume of projects. The ideal candidate will have 2+years experience in a related field and have extensive knowledge of the equipment and materials relevant to their specialty.

Requirements

  • Able to perform physical tasks including: carrying, climbing, crawling, stooping, squatting, pushing, pulling, hauling, and lifting as much as 100 pounds

  • Ability to use ladders safely

  • Maintain company and OSHA safety requirements

  • Must be reliable, customer-oriented and willing to be part of a team

  • Excellent problem solving skills, able to multitask

  • Team oriented

  • Quality conscious

  • Honest and reliable

  • Valid Driver’s License

  • Effective communication and maintaining professionalism at all times

  • Willingness to work overtime, nights, and weekends when necessary to deliver the project on time

The ideal candidate will have

  • 2+ years experience in finish carpentry, production, and/or scenic art

  • Extensive knowledge of stationary and hand-held power tools including table saw, routers and typical rotary blade/bit tools

  • Extensive knowledge of basic building materials

  • Some experience with sketchup or equivalent drafting and design programs is a plus

Responsibilities include but not limited to

  • Assist in all production tasks including building, painting, staining, sanding and moving pieces

  • Working on projects as outlined by the project leads and adhering to production schedules

  • Assist on load-ins and tear-downs

Pay - Hourly DOE

Schedule: On call for busy periods - (will be considered first for any future full time positions)
